trying out St Ninian’s…….

We attended St Ninian’s Presbyterian Church of Aotearoa New Zealand this morning at 9:30. Arrived early (we didn’t know how long it would take us to walk) and were immediately chatted up by the friendly Rev Rob Ferguson. The attending congregation was smaller than Chapel in the Pines, our home church. It was Fauna Sunday and part of Prayers follows:

You kauri and pine, rata and kowhai, mosses and ferns:
Give to God your thanks and praise!
Rabbits and cattle, moths and dogs, kiwi, sparrow, tui and hawk:
Give to God your thanks and praise!

We had a “cuppa” and a chat in the lounge following the service and were invited to join two tramping groups. We will probably have a hard time keeping up.
