Happy Easter from New Zee

We’ve experienced a couple Easter surprises here in the Southern Hemisphere.

No daffodils, only poplars with yellow leaves.

We didn’t expect stores to be open today, Easter. But we were surprised Christchurch was a ghost town on Good Friday. Not a single store or business open. Streets eerily empty.

Cadbury chocolate is huge in New Zealand. (One factory on North Island, one on South Island.)

After a few days of rain, the sun is shining today.

From church service this morning:
Call to Worship (Joy Cowley)

‘Today we dance with the angels round all the empty tombs in our lives,
celebrating transformation,
from grief to laughter, from darkness to light.’

May your Easter be full of light.
